Inside the Archive
An intimate studio visit and conversation exploring Jayne's work and creative practice over the last 20 years.
Jayne will take guests through selected archive pieces from collections spanning her career, discussing the concept and narrative behind each collection, how individual garments were designed and constructed, and the techniques, materials and craftsmanship involved in bringing them to life.
Jayne will also talk about her journey as a designer and some of the formative experiences that shaped her practice, including working with Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood, both of whom were incredible mentors to her in her career.
Alongside the archive, Jayne will discuss how her practice has evolved over the years, from concept and storytelling through to craftsmanship, sustainability, technology and my Welsh heritage, and how these elements continue to inform the way she works today.
There will be plenty of opportunity for guests to look closely at the garments, ask questions and have an informal conversation about the realities of developing a collection and building a career as an independent designer based in Wales.
